Show Us Your Rack

From  Zack01GC

Well, two of my friends and I decided to go to Dubs at the Beach back in May. We took my buddy Nick’s 2002 Jetta GLI VR6, as he was the only one with a VW. We made the journey from Pittsburgh, PA to Ocean City through what seemed to be category 5 hurricanes most of the way. Once we got close, we washed the car and, like so many of the other VW guys, decided to put something clever on the car with tape, as well as mask the front from bugs and rock chips. We decided on “Show Us Ur Rack,” with arrows pointing to the roof rack. What we put on the side resulted in many thumbs up, along with, well… “racks.” Besides – the car wasn’t getting enough attention from it’s 3″ side exit straight pipe exhaust as it was. The other person in the car, Tyler (T.Chang), took the liberty of hinting at the slogan’s alternate meaning.

This photo was taken at  the New Hampshire Motor Speedway from the BMWCCA event there July 6-7, 2008. It looks like he/she was using the trusty blue tape as way to prevent nicks and chips.

I thought that I might as well post up my car since this is in fact my blog. Here is a gallery set of my 2009 John Cooper Works Mini Cooper when I  traveled out to southern California for the 2009 Bimmerfest. The car was missing trim as the paint shop didn get it completed in time so what better way to hide it then use some trusty blue tape to cover up the missing scoop, and other misc bits.

See the gallery after the jump

One of the many uses of blue tape (and most common) is working to keep the car’s paint in good condition during long travels and even days out at the track. Well the guys over on Lotus Talk decided to put it to full use on the track. Check out the full gallery after the jump.
